Programs for All Levels...
Solitude Resort´s Snowboard and Ski School offers programs for all levels, from true beginners to powder novices to race classes. Moreover, Solitude is the only resort in Utah with alpine, Nordic, telemark and snowboarding lessons all on the same mountain.
At the heart of Snowsport Ski School is its director, Norwegian ski legend Leif Grevle (say Life Grev-ley). The 2003-2004 ski season marks his tenth year at Solitude, following four years at Colorado´s Breckenridge Mountain Resort and nearly 25 at Vail Associates. Grevle oversees nearly 90 instructors at Solitude and has served as a P.S.I.A. Rocky Mountain District examiner for 26 years.
According to Grevle, safety, fun and proper technique are three of the driving principles of the Solitude program. "Our goal is to create a ´home away from home´ in a safe and fun environment so real learning can take place," Grevle explains. "Children, and even adults, learn through play."
Still not convinced you need a lesson? Grevle emphasizes that there is no such thing as a "quick fix" to becoming a great skier and that anyone can benefit from establishing the proper foundation. "As the director of the ski school, I want Solitude to be a place for people to come and feel comfortable, bring their families and enjoy the experience."
Private Lessons
Our private lessons are customized for every age and ability and are arranged by appointment. Price is divided by the total number of people in the lesson and does not include lift tickets. Telemark lessons are available by reservation only.
Adult Group Lessons
Our adult group lessons are for all ability levels. Each lesson is designed to be enjoyable and rewarding. Prices are per person and do not include lift tickets unless otherwise noted. Reservations recommended. All group lessons require a two person minimum to receive the full two hours. Classes with one person will run one full hour.
Moonbeam Ski and Snowboard Academy for Kids
Solitude's specially designed program combines a great time with lifetime skills of skiing for kids ages 4 through 12 and snowboarding for kids 7 years old and older. Open to all ability levels. Prices are per child.
