Sugarloaf USA is Maine's biggest ski mountain!
With a continuous, one-mountain vertical drop of 2,820 feet, the longest in the East, and a summit elevation of 4,237 feet, Sugarloaf USA boasts more than 54 miles of trails ranging from novice to expert-only.
One hundred thirty three trails traverse Sugarloaf USA's 1,400 skiable acres, including three trails over three miles long, three terrain parks and 2 half-pipes.
Sugarloaf USA's summit is served by a high-capacity quad, and the rest of the mountain is well-serviced by 2 high-speed super-quads and 1 high-capacity quad chair, a triple and eight double chairs, and one surface lift.
Snowmaking covers 94% of trails in all 15 lift areas. Grooming is performed nightly by 12 Bombardier machines, so you can count on a perfect run the next morning.
Learn and Improve
Sugarloaf/USA Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School is consistently ranked as the best eastern school and offers more than 50 full-time and 100 part-time PSIA-certified instructors and a variety of unique programs all consistent with the American teaching method.
Special workshops on technique improvement, powder and bump skiing, telemarking and snowboarding are routinely held.
The Sugarloaf Outdoor Center is the largest in Maine, offering 105 kilometers of groomed, tracked trails and a 6,000 square foot solar-heated lodge.
Sugarloaf USA's western-style atmosphere comes from its village area, consisting of 10 alpine shops and 18 on-mountain eateries.
How to Get There
Sugarloaf USA is located 36 miles north of Farmington on Route 27 in the western mountains of Maine.
Driving time from the Greater Boston area is about three and a half to four hours. It is a little more than two hours from Portland, Bangor, Augusta or Waterville, Maine, and Montreal.
