The 12th annual "One from the Heart" Uphill Race & Walk-Up-Athon covers the 1,800 vertical feet of Buttermilk Mountain. Anything goes - snowshoes, telemark skis, skinny skis, heavy metal (course record: 26:06 on snowshoe).
Cost: $35.00 pre-registration at Ute Mountaineer or $40.00 race-day registration at Buttermilk. 100% of proceeds benefit Challenge Aspen and the Children's Hospital Immunodeficiency Program (CHIP) of Denver. This year's event also honors Chris Bove, fallen friend of Challenge Aspen. All entrants receive schwag bags, and there will be a $5 pancake breakfast and post-race giveaways at The Cliffhouse.
